WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @Taking on a World of Words. The aim is to give an update on your reading accomplishments and future plans.
The three W’s are:
- What did you recently finish reading?
- What are you currently reading?
- What do you think you’ll read next?
The Gentleman’s Guide to Getting Lucky (#1.5) by Mackenzi Lee || Like you’ll read below, I’m kind of starting to get in a slump because of this other book I’ve been trying to read. I decided to pick up something short so I’m at least still reading something. I didn’t even know this book was a thing until I saw Jenna’s review for it. So I went into this without even reading the synopsis because I’ll read absolutely anything centering around these characters. Apparently it’s about Monty and Percy’s first time together… getting lucky… who would have thought?! (I’m an idiot). It was so cute ❤ Also, what a cliffhanger!
Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (#7) by J.K. Rowling || Re-read || Still doing my month-long start of the year re-read of the last Harry Potter book. I’m a little behind, but I’m sure I’ll catch up.
The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling || DNF @10% || I usually don’t DNF books. Either I stop reading something a few pages in (and don’t count that) or I finish it. This year though, I want to try to be more focussed on reading things I actually enjoy. So even though I didn’t that far into it and it might become really interesting, I’m just bored and I feel like this could be putting me in a slump. The main reason this isn’t working for me, believe it or not, is that it’s written in the third person. I just feel SO detached. That combined with the limited setting… Maybe I’ll give it another try someday because I did hear good things.
Behind Closed Doors
By B.A. Paris
Everyone knows a couple like Jack and Grace. He has looks and wealth, she has charm and elegance. You might not want to like them, but you do.
You’d like to get to know Grace better.
But it’s difficult, because you realise Jack and Grace are never apart.
Some might call this true love. Others might ask why Grace never answers the phone. Or how she can never meet for coffee, even though she doesn’t work. How she can cook such elaborate meals but remain so slim. And why there are bars on one of the bedroom windows.
Sometimes, the perfect marriage is the perfect lie.
I’m thinking I’ll keep picking up some shorter books in the hope I can combat this slump before it really becomes a full-blown thing. The audiobook for this one is only 6 hours long on 1.5 speed and I’ve been wanting to read something by B.A. Paris.
These are the books I have recently read, am currently reading and plan to read next.
Have you read any of these books?
What was the last book you finished?
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!
