Top Ten Tuesday is a weekly meme hosted by Jana @That Artsy reader Girl. She provides us with prompts to write a bookish list. Personally, I don’t participate every week, just when I like a certain prompt or can twist it in some fun way.
This week we got “The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf“. No twist on of the topic this week, pretty straight forward. I’m actually quite proud of myself because I haven’t really bought many books lately! The most recent things I got were over the holidays.
Books I Got This Christmas
My fiance got me Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, the Illustrated Edition which was a big surprise. I had put it on my wishlist and was so excited to find he actually picked it up for me on his own! These illustrations are just to beautiful and I will cherish it forever. He also got me the first manga volume of one of his favorite anime’s as of late, Fire Force, which I think is very sweet and considerate. He doesn’t really read, so it’s not easy to pick out stuff he thinks I might enjoy. But by going with this manga, he still got me something that he liked and could share with me. On a completely different note, he also gave me a Dutch book called Hoe Krijg Je Altijd gelijk? (translation: How Do You Always Prove You’re Right?) because I’m the type of person who always remembers exactly how something went down and I often say “no that’s not how it went, it was like this…”. He thinks he’s soooo funny for buying me this. We can’t get too sweet in this household, gotta throw in some passive aggressive roast 😂.
I’m so grateful for all the things he got me and the lovely Christmas we had. If by any chance he reads this: Hi there, you’re the sweetest. Thank you ❤
Books I Bought in the Months Before Christmas
In the months before that, I bought myself a few books. One of them was The Shock of the Fall, a book I’ve been wanting to read since before I even had this blog and one I had almost bought every time I saw it in a bookstore. When I went to buy my mom some books for Christmas, I had to buy one more to get free delivery. So I said why not? Before that, I bought The Cruel Prince when everyone was talking about the third book coming out. I’ve heard it’s very entertaining and has a bunch of morally gray characters, so I decided to give it a try. Finally, I bought The Astonishing Color of After because I don’t think I ever heard anyone say a bad word about it and I feel like this book will be VERY emotional. I’d love to read more books centered around grief.
Those were all the books I’ve accumulated since October. Very reasonable don’t you think? Now I’d like to hear from you
Which books have you recently acquired?
Have you read any of the books I mentioned?
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a lovely day.
