www wednesday
WWW Wednesday is a weekly meme hosted by Sam @Taking on a World of Words. The aim is to give an update on your reading accomplishments and future plans.

The three W’s are:

  • What did you recently finish reading?
  • What are you currently reading?
  • What do you think you’ll read next?

Recently read

Illuminae

Illuminae (#1) by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff || I’ve finally done it! After owning this book for years and putting it on my monthly TBR’s countless of times, I’ve finally ⬛ing read it (you see what I did there with that black square, don’t cha). And the verdict: I ABSOLUTELY LOVED IT. Guys, I was so scared that after all this hype I would not be impressed by it, but once I was hooked, I was SO hooked… and invested… and e.m.o.t.i.o.n.a.l. This book was the ⬛ and I am so glad I finally read it.

WWW Wednesday Currently reading

Harry Potter and the Deadly Hallows  the luminous dead

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows (#7) by J.K. Rowling || Re-read || Like I mentioned last week, I’m listening to a chapter a day so that I can be sure the year starts off on a high note. So far I’ve listened to 15 chapters, so still on schedule! & Loving it obviously.

The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling || This book. This book is giving me all the conflicting feelings. The thing is, I’m completely uninvested in it and don’t have the urge to pick it up at all. I’ve barely listened to an hour of the audiobook since last week. So I should probably DNF it, right? Right. But I’m stubborn and I want to know what happens in this 14-hour-long audiobook exclusively set in a cave. What goes down in this cave?!

WWW Wednesday To be Read

I’m kind of having a hard time deciding what to read. I’m a really big mood reader and am currently a bit in between moods, in the sense that I’m having a hard time finding something that really sticks. I might just have to read a few first chapters to decide. Some books that might be up next: The Chalk Man, The Shock of the Fall, or the Dead House.

These are the books I have recently read, am currently reading and plan to read next.

Have you read any of these books?
What was the last book you finished?

Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful day!

  1. Nikki, well done on finally reading Illuminae by Amie Kaufman & Jay Kristoff (I have quite a few books like that on my TBR, too!) and yes, I know exactly what you were doing with that grey square! 😉 I am also pleased to hear you are enjoying a re-read/listen of Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows. I just received The Goblet of Fire and The Half-Blood Prince on audiobook for my birthday! 😀

  2. I’ M SO GLAD YOU LOVED ILLUMINAE! I can’t tell you how much I love that series. 😀 I hope you enjoy the next two books as much. AIDAN is one of my favorite characters of all time. All your upcoming reads sound great. I’ve heard good things about Dead House, too!

  3. I’m glad you enjoyed Illuminae. After having it on my to-read list for a long time, I finally read it last year… and didn’t love it. And the bummer is, I bought myself copies of the whole trilogy as a treat before I even started, and now I don’t want to read the other two. 😦 Listening to Harry Potter is always a delight! I did an audio re-read a couple of years ago, but somehow got sidetracked and never ended up listening to #6 & 7… so I’m glad for the reminder that I should get back to them!

    1. That’s such a shame! I’m sorry you didn’t end up liking it. What about it made it that you didn’t love it? It’s always a bummer when you already own the whole series. I hope you might enjoy the other books still, or manage to get a good deal on it if you sell them! I’m making it my life’s ambition to always remind people to listen to the Harry Potter audiobooks haha 😋

  4. I’m so glad you loved Illuminae so much! I have it on my shelf and I am kind of nervous about the hype around the book and it is so different to my usual taste. But I’m excited and I’m glad you loved it!! I hope you love the rest of the series as well!! 🙂
I’m sorry you aren’t feeling The Luminous Dead as I had heard good things but it being entirely set in a cave is very intense. I struggle to DNF books but it is a lot of time if you aren’t feeling it!! 🙂

  6. I’m a big mood reader myself! 🙂 So even if I make a schedule of books I want to read next, there’s a great chance I won’t to stick it because I’m not in the mood for it. 😉
The Chalk Man sounds interesting to me…

  7. I really need to read Illumine. I actually have all 3 books and have not had a chance to enjoy them. I see them on Instagram all the time. The fact that you loved it so much is giving me inspiration to carve out some time for them ☺️
