Can you believe the year is almost over? We’re so close to December. So close to moving into 2020. It’s crazy! So around this time of year there’s always a bunch of posts going around reflecting on the year, but also posts like this, talking about the last things you want to achieve before the year is over.

Are there any books you started this year that you need to finish?
There were some books I started and then put back down again because I just wasn’t in the right mood for it or I got distracted by life stuff. Sometimes when I get a bit slumpy I have no idea what I’m in the mood for and I just try until something sticks, so I end up having read a little bit of a million different books. I’m not counting any of those because I will start them over again when I pick them back up. The only two I will continue where I left off are two short story collections. I’m not particularly enjoying either of them but I just want to be done with them.
Do you have an autumnal book to transition into the end of the year?
So I might be really predictable with this answer but… the first illustrated Harry Potter book? I only just got it and I plan to read it snuggled up in a blanket on a gloomy day with an #aesthetic hot beverage in my hand. Can I be a member of the basic bitch reader club now?😂 No but really… I can’t wait.
Is there a new release you’re still waiting for?
Welll… I do not plan on buying any more books this year. But if The Wives by Tarryn Fisher, which releases in December, becomes available on my audiobook app then I will jump on that straight away.
What are three books you want to read before the end of the year?
This would be more than three but I would love to finish up some series I have owned and left half-read for years. Can you believe I never read Mockingjay? I’m such a fake book blogger haha.
Is there a book you think could still shock you and become your favourite book ofthe year?
If there were any it would be either of these two, which I have on my physical TBR shelf. Crooked Kingdom because everyone seems to cry or freak out over that one and I loved Six of Crows. The Astonishing Color of After because this was on lots of people’s favorites list last year and I expect it to be a very emotional read.
Have you already started making reading plans for 2020?
Generally, I read very slow, which is why in previous years thirty books seemed like a good challenge. Reading a little under a book a week was just about right. Recently though, I’ve been reading 2 books a week most weeks. So I plan on actually making it a thing to read 2 books a week. Averaging out my goal to 100 books for 2020. That seems so scary. I also plan on picking around 20 books of my physical TBR that I have to get to or otherwise unhaul by the end of the year.
These are some lovely bookish people who have recently started following my blog. Be sure to check them out!
That’s all for today’s tag. Now let’s chat.
Any books you want to complete before the end of the year?
How far are you on your reading challenges?
