Look a Tag! I haven’t done one of these in forever. I don’t use NetGalley so let’s do a tag about it. That seems about right. The lovely Jenna @BookmarkYourThoughts tagged me. She is one of the nicest people you will ever meet in this bookish community, always leaving such sweet comments on people’s posts and being so positive. Not to mention her posts are great and her blog looks so clean and beautiful. I especially love the Bullet Journal posts she has been doing lately. If you aren’t following her blog already, please go over to her site now to fix that!

This tag was originally created by  Kourtni @KourtniReads.

Who’s one author whose books you automatically want to read, regardless of what they are about?

Good me bad me  The whisper man  Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine

I’ve never really had auto-buy authors and I’m really bad at keeping up to date with authors. But I want to get better! So here are three debut novels I read and loved this year. I will definitely read these authors’ next books no matter what they are about.

What makes you want to request a book on NetGalley?

So yes… I don’t use NetGalley. I’ve browsed the site and contemplated requesting something, but never have. My blogging has been very inconsistent over the years and reviewing is not really my forte. So I felt like it wouldn’t be fair to request an Advanced Reader Copy if I wasn’t much of an Advanced Reader. You know what I mean? Here Jenna has proven my point of her being a lovely human being because when I commented this on her post she told me to just go for it. I might in the future!

Do you review every book you read? If not, how do you decide what books to review?

No. I definitely do not. I tend to overthink reviews so I’m really bad at keeping up to date with them. If everything goes according to plan I will be more consistent about it but I still wouldn’t review everything I read. Some books like manga/graphic novels or non-fiction I usually don’t even rate. It’s just too complicated and I could have read five more books in the time I take trying to figure out a rating.

If you could create one badge to display on your blog, what would it be for?

Well, I’m so glad you asked. Since I don’t use NetGalley I have never been able to display one of those honorary badges on my site. If I could create my own NetGalley badge (Which I can… and did) to display on my site it would look a little something like this:

Anyone who at least tried would be able to display it. Now we can all join in on the NetGalley badge fun.

What’s one book that you are absolutely dying to read?

the hand on the wall

The third book in the Truly Devious series by Maureen Johnson. This has been such a fun series to read! That’s saying a lot coming from someone who barely ever reads series. I’m very curious to see where it will go and I’m desperately hoping the story doesn’t get dragged out too much.

What was the last book that you received as an ARC that you reviewed?
If you’ve never received one, what’s the last book you reviewed?

Never have I ever received an ARC. So here is my latest review:

  1. YOU’RE SO SWEET! THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! You are such a wonderful ray of sunshine in the community! And you should TOTALLY GO FOR IT! Only if you want to, but you really should! You write lovely posts! Authors would be lucky to have you review their books!
Oh my gosh … I need that badge for so many elements of my life lmao!
    Great post, darlin’!

  2. Ahahah, that’s right, the fact that you don’t use NetGalley shouldn’t stop you from doing a book tag! 🙂

I still need to read «The Whisper Man», but «Eleanor Oliphant» was my fav book of 2018, and I 100% will read anything Gail Honeyman ever comes up with. I even stalked her social media for a while trying to see if she was working on a new book. And also tried searching for books similar to Eleanor. Lol

    1. I would recommend listening to The Whisper Man on audio if you have the chance! The actual whispering was soooo creepy. It’s rare for me to genuinely be spooked by a book but that audiobook did the trick!

Haha I feel you on the “checking the author’s social media”. Did you end up finding out if Gail Honey is writing another book? Because if so, I need it right now! :p

      1. That sounds very creepy! I’ll make sure to give the audiobook a try. And yes, I found that she was working on a new book but that it would be something totally different from Eleanor Oliphant. Hopefully we will hear more about the release date soon. 🙂
