Here we are again, another overly ambitious TBR for a readathon I will probably miserably fail at. You know what, let’s keep it optimistic. THIS IS GOING TO BE MY MONTH. I can feel it. Can you feel it? I’m going to read like my life depends on it. Reading. Machine.
The N.E.W.T’s is a month-long readathon hosted by G@Book Roast on youtube. It’s an event inspired by the Harry Potter books, in which students have to take these Nastily Exhausting Wizarding Tests in their seventh year. There is a career guide from which you can pick your desired career, which is linked to a required for a selection of courses. To achieve the acquired grade (Acceptable, Exceeding expectations or Outstanding), you have to do it step by step. First reading the book for the A prompt, then the E prompt, and finally the O prompt.
For my wizarding career, I went with Mind Medic, which is really the only option for me since I have been working to become the muggle variant of this for years.
Aren’t these covers just stunning? This is such a unique story with AMAZING art. So far I’ve only read the first volume but I can’t wait to continue on! I sneaked these in because I definitely would not be able to finish 12 novels, I chose 7 now and even that will be a stretch for me.
Thrillerssssss. I am in such a thriller/mystery mood and I can’t wait to discover some new gems. The Chalk Man has received a bunch of praise, A Nearly Normal Family I have been seeing everywhere and Bird Box has been on my TBR since the stone age.
These two I mainly picked because they are on my summer tbr list and they fit the challenge. I’m actually trying with my set reading plans now. I have wanted to read both of these for a while now and I hope they live up to my expectations (especially THUG because Genuine Fraud has received some mixed reviews and I’m sceptical).
I was actually already planning to read Into the Darkest Corner this month. A friend I made more recently is actually a reader. Finally, a real-life friend who reads! Dreams really do come true. Haha. We’ll we decided to do a monthly book club where we take turns deciding on a book. This is one she has already read and loved. So I’m excited! We don’t quite know yet how similar our tastes are because we haven’t really read the same books.
So far I’ve only read They Both Die in the End by Adam Silvera and unfortunately was kind of underwhelmed (mainly the plot). But I do feel like I might love one of his other books, so we’ll see with History is All You Left Me.
These are the books I plan to read this month for the N.E.W.T’s readathon.
Will you be participating in this readathon?
If so, how ambitious do you feel your tbr is?
Thanks for reading and I hope you have a wonderful way!
