The Perks of Being a Wallflower | Teaser Tuesday

Teaser Tuesday is a bookish meme hosted by Jenn @BooksandaBeat. You are supposed to share a few non-spoiler quotes as a teaser for your current read and provide some information about the book.

I decided that from now on I will always share two quotes, one from the page at 10% of the book and one at 50%.

The Teaser

On page 23 of 231:
“Do you know what “Masturbation” is? I think you probably do because you are older than me. But just in case, I will tell you.”

On page 115 of 231:
“I did ask him if he has a girlfriend, though, and he said he didn’t. He seemed sad when he said it, too, but I decided not to pry because I thought that would be too personal.”

The Perks of Being a Wallflower by Stephen Chbosky

The Perks of Being a Wallflower“Charlie is a freshman. And while he’s not the biggest geek in the school, he is by no means popular. Shy, introspective, intelligent beyond his years yet socially awkward, he is a wallflower, caught between trying to live his life and trying to run from it. Charlie is attempting to navigate his way through uncharted territory: the world of first dates and mixed tapes, family dramas and new friends; the world of sex, drugs, and The Rocky Horror Picture Show, when all one requires is that perfect song on that perfect drive to feel infinite. But Charlie can’t stay on the sideline forever. Standing on the fringes of life offers a unique perspective. But there comes a time to see what it looks like from the dance floor.”

Have you read this book? (probably)
If not, has the teaser drawn your attention?
